My SubjectsPersonal reflection This year at Sergant Park I think I did very well on total surface area. Because I am not the greatest at math and I felt really confident about this particular math topic. Also my favourite was learning about Cro-Magnons in social studies it was very interesting I might not have got everything perfect but I sure enjoyed learning about it. Even know I have learned so much at sergant park this year I could have improved in my learning if I had done these 2 things HANDING IN ASSIGNMENTS this is one my biggest downfalls. Another thing I could have done better on is asking question which I struggle with because I am very shy and I have trouble speaking in front of other people but if I would asked question my marks would have been better. My goals for the next 6 weeks of school are to ask questions and hand in all of my assignments on time and do everything I can to succeed and do well on my exams. One more thing is I need to push myself a little harder because I know I can do better.Adult Response
In looking at your work, I would like to compliment you on the following 2 things:
In the last 6 weeks of school I will help you reach your goals by:
2 minutes to make a difference My topic is Child poverty Some of our big questions are how can we make youth get involved in helping people of the less fortunate especially children? Most of our questions follow around those lines you know like kids helping kids another big question is are boys and girls more likely to join gangs our comate crimes if so why and how can we stop it? Our key points focus on Children and how they are affected because there the next generation and we got to do whatever we can to help them because there our future. Me and my partner are getting ready to start our a video we have gathered most of the information we need along with pictures the project is due May 11th but we still will have time to make some changes before it is marked.

For the first term this year in grade 8 Mr. Harbeck thought us about problem solving and how we need to add a simple sentence answer and also include outrageous answers. Also we started off the year by making a math profile thing that let us get to know our classmates better it also gave our teacher a chance to get to know us bette. Then we got to rate, ratio and proportional reasoning , to learn about these topics better we got to make a fun movie about the topics we were learning about the thyme was based on sesame street. We also learned about Pythagoras and how to square numbers and roots I really enjoyed this first term it was really interesting but I think I should have asked some questions because there were many things I was in certain of overall this term was okay.
Two Term Ratio: Compares two quantities measured in the same units. Tree Term Ratio: Compares three quantities measured in the same units. Rate: Compares two quantities measured in different units. Explore response chapter 2 , Iqbal novel study
I have just finished reading chapter 2 of the novel Iqbal by Francesco D’adames.
The genre of this book is realistic fiction category in this book the author has chosen not to include any pictures. This book is written as a novel.
The author purpose in writing Iqbal is to inform the reader of the child labour. I am reading the text to gain a deeper understanding about the ongoing issue pf employing children in factory’s and workshops. Child labour is a human right that everyone should be aware of.
Some key lines in this chapter are beams of light clashing in a mortal duel I choose this line because I felt like the author was trying to imply that the duel was like fight for Fatima and freedom another line worth remembering the sun beams were blocked and the swords stopped fighting I feel I feel this line is important because hussain khan was the one who blocked the sun beams hussain khan is the one who is holding all the kids back and the master some names worth remembering are Fatima she is the narrator in the novel another name worth remembering is Hussain Kahn he is their master he is also the antagonist in the novel Karim is the overseer of the children he used to be one of them 2 but then he got too old and his fingers got too big and stubby to tie the small and delicate knots at the end of the carpet Iqbal is just being introduced in this chapter but he has caught everyone eye because he amazing at his work none of the children had never seen a child work as well as he did but there was one thing that the children are confused about why was Iqbal chained to his loom he was not a numskull that’s for sure. Iqbal is also the protagonist. Some words in the novel worth remembering are triumphed the author is maybe saying the good people always triumphed so maybe that will happen to the children Hero I think iqbal is the hero I feel he is extra ordinary. Evil I think hussain khan is evil because he makes the children work with little food and water him also make them work in horrible working conditions. Some places worth remembering are tomb it is a underground place were the children go when they are bad Workshop the workshop is basically their home is where they spend all of their time like working sleeping eating going to bathroom so the workshop is usually were everything takes place . I relate to this chapter because I am a child just like Fatima and iqbal I have no idea how these children do what they do everyday I wouldn’t know what to do if I was them every single child can relate to this book. Some questions I have are why is Iqbal chained to his loom when he is not a numskull? Why does hussain khan not trust Iqbal?
